We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Mortgage Underwriter to join our dynamic team. Responsibilities
- Review and analyze loan applications, financial statements, and credit reports to assess borrower eligibility.
- Conduct thorough risk analysis to identify potential issues and mitigate risks associated with lending decisions.
- Utilize strong math skills to calculate debt-to-income ratios, loan-to-value ratios, and other financial metrics.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with borrowers as necessary to ensure compliance with underwriting standards.
- Collect and verify data from various sources to support underwriting decisions.
- Maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Collaborate with loan officers, processors, and other team members to facilitate a smooth loan approval process.
- Stay updated on industry regulations, trends, and best practices to ensure compliance and enhance underwriting processes.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 year of experience in mortgage underwriting or document fulfillment .
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform risk analysis effectively.
- Proficient in data collection techniques and tools used in the underwriting process.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
