Your future role on our team
You’ll be part of a team specialized in commissioning electrical systems up to 735 kV. You'll be supported by experts at all times and exposed to a wide range of projects and environments to develop your technical skills in all areas related to electric power. In this role, you’ll lead commissioning projects, coordinate project teams and ensure their health and safety. Our main sectors include power (generation, transmission and distribution), mining and heavy industry.

- Serve as the person responsible for the work for commissioning projects at Hydro-Québec facilities
- Implement safety measures
- Ensure the entire team complies with safety requirements and rules
- Perform various types of tests on power equipment
- Test circuit breakers, disconnect switches and power and instrument transformers
- Program and simulate protection relay settings
- Perform pre-operational verifications and commission new electrical substations
- Troubleshoot various electrical equipment (starters, motors, transformers, disconnect switches, cables, bus ducts, controls, etc.)
- Draft verification, anomaly and follow-up reports
- Ensure client satisfaction
- Draft technical reports and help prepare them
- Oversee project monitoring and management
- Guide new team members on electrical testing, equipment maintenance, safety and more

Summary of certifications and job requirements
- College diploma in electrical engineering technology, industrial electronics, electrodynamics or any equivalent education, or a university degree in electrical engineering
- From 8 to 15 years relevant work experience
- Available to work on site and at client locations 100% of the time
- Be qualified under Hydro-Québec's Work Code as a Site Supervisor
- Strong knowledge of protection relay programming and testing, and/or strong knowledge of electrical testing on power equipment such as transformers and generators.
- Strong knowledge of testing equipment
- Good knowledge of the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word and Outlook)
- Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in English-speaking Canadian provinces and internationally; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects
- Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec
- Available to work across Canada, but mainly in Québec
- Asset: good knowledge of Hydro-Québec's computer systems
- Asset: Journeyperson Competency Certificate (JCC)
