Field Services Technician – Electrical Panels & SCADA Monitoring
Location: Alberta mainly (can be other provinces and occasional USA work)

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Field Services Technician to join our team. This role involves working directly in the field to install, service, and troubleshoot electrical panels and SCADA monitoring equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, hands-on electrical experience, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical panels and SCADA monitoring equipment at client sites.
- Perform field testing, troubleshooting, and diagnostics to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Troubleshoot wireless communications equipment including data radios, cellular modems, antennas.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure all equipment is functioning safely and efficiently.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other team members to meet project timelines.
- Document service activities, including test results, repairs, and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies while on-site.
- Provide customer support and communicate clearly with clients about service needs and outcomes.
- Decommission or re-service old equipment.
- Perform occasional general labour tasks, such as snow removal and light landscaping, as required.
- Experience programming PLCs.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving mindset required.
Qualifications
- Technical diploma, trade certification, or equivalent experience in electrical, instrumentation, or related field.
- Hands-on experience working with electrical panels, wiring, and control systems.
- Familiarity with SCADA monitoring equipment and systems, including, but not limited to wireless communications equipment such as data radios and cellular modems.
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel long distances to various field locations.
- Safety certifications (e.g., H2S, CSTS, First Aid, WHMIS, etc.) are an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Must be able to work on the road for around 50% of the month. Must be able to travel within Canada and the U.S.
Compensation will be calculated based on experience.
Pay: $35.00-$55.00 per hour
