Reporting to the Executive Manager Business Services, the Supervisor of Finance & Budgeting is responsible for leading budget work for both Preliminary and Revised Budgets. provides strategic and operational leadership to the Finance Department, including oversight of Business Consultants. The incumbent is responsible for leading the development and submission of both Preliminary and Revised Budgets, ensuring compliance with Ministry of Education (EFIS) reporting requirements. This role supports the preparation of year-end financial statements, audits, and ensures adherence to internal controls, accounting standards, and legislative requirements. The Supervisor ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data to support sound decision-making across the organization. The position requires strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills to manage departmental operations and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Skills required:

Post-secondary degree in an Accounting, Finance or Business-related field required
- Professional Accounting Designation (CPA CA, CMA or CGA) required

4 - 6 years of progressive accounting experience required

Expert knowledge of accounting concepts related to Ontario school boards and comprehensive understanding of educational funding requirements is considered an asset

Advanced understanding and demonstration of application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial reporting standards required

Advanced skills using financial information systems. Experience working with Sparkrock is considered an asset.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel at an advance level is required.
