Overview
We are seeking a friendly and attentive Gas Station Attendant to provide excellent customer service at our convenience store. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment, assisting customers with their needs, and ensuring smooth operations at the pump and cashier station. This role offers an opportunity to develop retail sales experience, enhance organizational skills, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with fueling vehicles efficiently
- Operate POS systems for cash handling, credit card transactions, and receipts
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly
- Maintain cleanliness of the store, fuel pumps, and surrounding areas
- Restock merchandise and ensure shelves are organized and appealing
- Conduct product demos or upselling of convenience items to increase sales
- Manage inventory levels and assist with merchandising efforts
- Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with all health regulations
- Handle cash register operations accurately, including basic math calculations for transactions
- Maintain phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via messaging platforms
Skills
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities to communicate effectively with diverse customers
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on positive interactions
- Experience with retail sales, cashiering, or POS systems is preferred
- Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction accuracy
- Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and active listening
- Time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during busy periods
- Organizational skills to keep the work area tidy and stock levels maintained
- Ability to upsell products tactfully to enhance sales opportunities
- Knowledge of merchandising techniques to attract customer attention
- Technical sales experience or familiarity with product demos is a plus but not required
