Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Worker to provide personalized in-home support to a client in need of assistance. This role involves delivering quality patient care, assisting with daily activities, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for a quadriplegic individual with MS. Ideal candidates will have experience in assisted living, senior care, or nursing home settings, and possess a strong commitment to enhancing clients' quality of life through attentive caregiving. Responsibilities
- Assist client with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication administration as prescribed by healthcare professionals
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
- Support patients with mobility challenges through safe transfer techniques and heavy lifting when necessary
- Offer companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Monitor health status and report any changes or concerns to healthcare providers or family members
- Assist with specialized care needs such as dementia care, hospice care, or working with individuals with disabilities
- Follow care plans accurately and document services provided
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospice, or home care settings preferred
- Knowledge of patient care techniques, including medication administration and dementia care
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility support
- Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate attitude towards seniors and individuals with disabilities
- Excellent communication skills for interacting effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Valid certification in caregiving or related fields is a plus but not mandatory
- Ability to work independently while following established care protocols
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; reliability is essential
