To support our continued success and high sales volume, we are looking for a detail-oriented and highly organized Accountant to join our team.
Because we operate in a fast-paced retail environment, we are looking for a professional who understands the flow of a dealership, thrives on accuracy, and can effectively manage month-end deadlines. The Role
Reporting remotely to the Controller in Edmonton , the Dealership Accountant will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and accuracy of our Red Deer operations. You will be responsible for a variety of day-to-day accounting functions, maintaining clean accounting schedules, processing vehicle deals, and ensuring that our financial reporting is timely and precise.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily bank reconciliations and manage cash flow tracking.
- Regularly review, clean, and reconcile accounting schedules (EFT, reserve, accounts receivable, and accounts payable).
- Reconcile vehicle floorplan statements and process floorplan payouts accurately and on time.
- Post vehicle sales deals, handle dealer trades, and process wholesale transactions.
- Assist the Controller with month-end and year-end close procedures, ensuring all deadlines are strictly met.
- Prepare and submit accurate GST returns and other manufacturer or government remittances.
- Support the broader administrative and management team with ad-hoc financial reporting, resolving discrepancies, and improving accounting workflows.
What We Are Looking For
- A degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- 2+ years of full-cycle accounting experience. Automotive dealership accounting experience is highly preferred.
- Experience with Dealership Management Systems (DMS) such as PBS and/or CDK.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) and standard office software.
- Exceptional attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
