Job Summary
Join the Lawn 'N' Order team as a Garden Maintenance Technician and play a key role in creating and maintaining healthy, attractive landscapes across Winnipeg. This hands-on position is primarily focused on detailed garden maintenance, ensuring commercial and residential properties remain clean, vibrant, and professionally maintained throughout the growing season.
As a Garden Maintenance Technician, you will perform a variety of horticultural and landscape maintenance tasks, including weeding, pruning, edging, mulching, deadheading, seasonal cleanups, plant health monitoring, and maintaining landscape beds to the highest standards. You will also assist with softscape enhancement projects, including the installation of annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, soil, mulch, and other landscape materials as required.
Working alongside our Lead Horticulturalist, you'll receive hands-on training in professional horticultural practices while expanding your knowledge of plant care, landscape maintenance, and softscape installation. Responsibilities
- Perform routine garden and landscape bed maintenance.
- Hand weed landscape beds and remove unwanted vegetation.
- Prune shrubs, ornamental plants, and small trees.
- Deadhead flowers and maintain seasonal plant displays.
- Edge landscape beds for a clean, professional appearance.
- Install mulch, decorative rock, soil, and other landscape materials.
- Plant annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, and other softscape materials.
- Assist with landscape enhancement and garden renovation projects.
- Remove debris, leaves, fallen branches, and litter from landscape areas.
- Monitor plant health and identify insects, diseases, irrigation concerns, or other issues.
- Apply fertilizers and approved horticultural products as directed.
- Operate hand tools and landscaping equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load, unload, and transport plants, tools, and landscape materials.
- Maintain clean, organized work vehicles, trailers, and equipment.
- Report property concerns, hazards, and customer requests to supervisors.
- Deliver professional and courteous customer service while on site.
- Follow all company safety procedures and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in garden maintenance, landscaping, or horticulture is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of plant identification, pruning, and general horticultural practices is an asset.
- Experience with planting and softscape installations is considered an asset.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence is preferred.
- Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
- Ability to lift 25–50 lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
