Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In-Home MALE Caregiver to provide personalized care and support to a client in their own home. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for senior care and assisted living. You will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our client by delivering attentive, respectful, and tailored care. This position offers a structured schedule and the opportunity to provide meaningful, one-on-one support.
Schedule & Shift Details
- Days: Monday to Sunday
- Hours: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Note: This position includes working Statutory (STAT) holidays if they fall on a weekday.
Key Responsibilities
- Personal Care: Provide assistance with the daily morning routine, including dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene. Provide assistance with showering and applying lotion every other day. Assist client in changing the diapers if needed.
- Incontinence Care: Assist with managing incontinence (client utilizes pull-ups).
- Safety Supervision: Maintain constant supervision to ensure safety at all times, as the client is a fall risk (though mostly independent with minimal mobility assistance).
- Health & Wellness Support: Monitor the client for diabetic symptoms (Type 2 Diabetes) and check blood sugar levels if he becomes symptomatic. (Note: Daily routine medications are managed entirely by the client's wife).
- Companionship & Activity: Encourage and participate in gentle recreational activities and ambulation, including outdoor walks when weather permits.
- Light Housekeeping: Assist with changing and making the client’s bed according to the established schedule.Qualifications & Requirements
- Gender/Language: Male caregiver who is fluent in English with excellent communication skills.
- Experience: Proven experience working with clients living with Severe Dementia or Alzheimer's.
- Skills: Knowledge of Type 2 Diabetes monitoring and fall-prevention techniques.
- Attributes: Patient, empathetic, physically capable of providing light transfer assistance, and highly reliable.
- Certifications (Preferred): Health Care Aide (HCA), CPR/First Aid certification, and a clear vulnerable sector criminal record check.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Gender/Language: Strong & Young Male caregiver who is fluent in English with excellent communication skills.
- Experience: Proven experience working with clients living with Severe Dementia or Alzheimer's. Experienced in general lifting and transfer of clients.
- Skills: Knowledge of Type 2 Diabetes monitoring and fall-prevention techniques.
- Attributes: Patient, empathetic, physically capable of providing light transfer assistance, and highly reliable.
- Certifications (Preferred): Health Care Aide (HCA), CPR/First Aid certification, and a clear vulnerable sector criminal record check.
