Inc. is a privately owned transportation company based in West Edmonton, Alberta, specializing in heavy haul, over-dimensional, and general freight transportation throughout Canada and the United States. Due to continued growth, we are currently seeking experienced Class 1 Lease Operators to join our team. We welcome applications from operators with or without winch truck configurations.
Position Overview
As a Lease Operator with D.B.I. Inc., you will be responsible for transporting a variety of loads ranging from local deliveries to long-haul assignments throughout Canada and the United States. Job Responsibilities
- Safely operate and maintain your Class 1 commercial vehicle
- Transport heavy haul, over-dimensional, and general freight as assigned
- Comply with all company, provincial, state, and federal transportation regulations
- Complete required documentation accurately and on time
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections
- Secure loads according to industry standards and regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude while representing D.B.I. Inc.
- Requires repetitive physical activity, including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.
Work Schedule
- Assignments are dispatched based on customer requirements
- Local, regional, and long-haul work available
- Overnight stays and extended trips away from home are required
- Cross-border travel into the United States may be required
Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 Driver's License
- Minimum 5 years of commercial driving experience and/or heavy haul and over-dimensional transportation driving experience is an asset
- Winch truck experience and/or winch-equipped truck
- Clean and professional driving record (10-year Commercial Driver's Abstract required)
- Ability to pass pre-employment and ongoing drug and alcohol testing when needed
- Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
- Excellent communication and time-management skills
- Experience securing specialized loads
- Valid passport for cross-border travel (optional)
Required Safety Certifications
Applicants must possess current certifications for:
- CSTS (Construction Safety Training System)
- OSSA or equivalent recognized safety orientation
- H2S
- Standard First Aid
Equipment Requirements
Lease operators must provide trucks equipped with:
- Load securement straps
- Chains and binders
- Tire chains
- Extension mirrors
- Amber safety beacons
- Winch or Hydraulic wet kit-equiped trucks are considered a strong asset but are not mandatory.
