Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Respite Personal Support Workers to provide essential care and assistance to individuals with varying needs. This role involves supporting clients in their daily activities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. The ideal candidate will have a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of those they serve, with experience in assisted living, home care, or related fields. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with clients requiring senior care, dementia support, hospice care, or individuals with disabilities.
Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication administration following prescribed instructions
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and organizing to maintain a safe environment
- Support clients with mobility and transfer assistance, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Monitor and report any changes in health status or behavior to supervising staff
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Follow care plans and document services provided accurately and timely
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, home care, hospice care, or working with individuals with disabilities is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care and senior care best practices is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist with mobility needs safely
- Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate attitude towards clients’ needs
- Experience in medication administration and basic nursing skills is a plus
- Ability to work independently while following established care protocols
- Excellent communication skills and patience when working with diverse populations
- Must be reliable, responsible, and committed to providing high-quality personal support services
Pay: $19.00 per hour
