Position Summary
The Production Accountant Assistant works closely with the production accounting team. Responsible for managing the financial control of multiple non-union productions, ensuring the timely and accurate financial reporting and active cost management of productions.
Specific Accountabilities:
- Maintain records and prepare cost reports.
- Prepare weekly production payroll using Sage 50, ensuring time sheets are approved and accurately reflect the correct production.
- Process production petty cash ensuring all appropriate authorizations and paperwork have been obtained and approved.
- Manage data entries for supplier invoices, on a weekly basis. Detailed data entry tasks are required for the proper allocation of expenses to Manitoba labour to support the application of the tax credits.
- Credit card reconciliations.
- Communicate with cast and crew and the production manager on a regular basis.
- Prepare bank reconciliations on a weekly basis.
- Prepare monthly intercompany reconciliations.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis as required.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience.
- Completion of a bookkeeping and payroll course or diploma is required.
- Knowledge of film production and film accounting is an asset.
- Experience with preparing and processing manual payroll is required.
- Knowledge of Sage 50 software or similar software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft suite of programs.

Pay: $50,000.00-$53,000.00 per year
