Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, welding, and assembling metal components using various techniques and tools. This role requires a strong understanding of blueprint reading, mechanical knowledge, and proficiency in welding processes such as MIG and TIG. The Welder/Fabricator will contribute to the production of high-quality metal structures, ductwork, and assemblies in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Duties
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine specifications for fabrication and welding projects
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on various metals, ensuring strong and precise welds
- Operate plasma cutting equipment, press brake machines, and hand tools to cut, shape, and assemble metal components
- Rig and secure materials using cranes or forklifts for fabrication or assembly processes
- Use calipers, measuring tapes, and other precision tools to ensure accurate dimensions and quality standards
- Fabricate ductwork, structural steel, or custom parts according to project requirements
- Assist with machining tasks as needed, including using power tools and hand tools for assembly or modification
- Follow safety protocols during all fabrication activities to maintain a safe work environment
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and perform routine maintenance on tools and machinery
Requirements
- Proven experience in welding (MIG and TIG) with the ability to produce high-quality welds in various positions
- Mechanical knowledge related to fabrication processes, machinery operation, and assembly techniques
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately
- Familiarity with plasma cutting, press brake machines, hand tools, power tools, and basic machining operations
- Knowledge of rigging procedures and crane operation is a plus
- Experience with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and basic math skills for measurements
- Construction or manufacturing experience preferred; ductwork or structural steel fabrication experience is advantageous
- Ability to operate forklifts safely (certification preferred)
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
