Job Summary
We are seeking an Experienced Civil Construction & Excavation Labourer to join our team. This role involves performing a variety of manual and technical tasks related to civil construction, excavation, and site preparation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy equipment operation, mechanical skills, and safety procedures, contributing to efficient project completion and maintaining high standards of quality and safety on-site.
Responsibilities
- Assist with excavation, grading, and site preparation activities using heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, and bulldozers
- Operate power tools, hand tools, and other construction equipment safely and effectively
- Perform rigging tasks to secure loads for lifting or movement with cranes or forklifts
- Maintain and troubleshoot mechanical systems on-site, ensuring equipment functions properly
- Assist with the operation and maintenance of forklifts and other heavy machinery
- Follow safety protocols related to oil & gas environments and general construction sites
- Support team members with material handling, site cleanup, and setup of construction zones
- Adhere to all safety regulations and ensure a safe working environment for all personnel
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a civil construction or excavation labourer with a focus on heavy equipment operation
- Mechanical knowledge related to construction machinery and tools
- Skilled in rigging, welding, and the use of hand tools and power tools
- Valid certification or experience operating forklifts and heavy machinery preferred
- Knowledge of oil & gas industry standards is a plus
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and standing for extended periods
- Strong commitment to safety procedures and teamwork-oriented attitude
- Prior experience working with oil & gas projects is advantageous but not mandatory
