At Waterloo Nissan, we take pride in delivering an exceptional customer experience from the moment a customer enters our dealership to the day they take delivery of their vehicle. We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Vehicle Detailer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing new and pre-owned vehicles for delivery, maintaining vehicle appearance standards, and ensuring every vehicle leaves our dealership in showroom condition.
Responsibilities – Vehicle Cleaning & Detailing
- Thoroughly detail new and pre-owned vehicles prior to customer delivery.
- Wash and dry vehicle exteriors to ensure a clean, streak-free finish.
- Clean and polish wheels and apply tire dressing.
- Vacuum and clean vehicle interiors, including seats, carpets, trunk areas, and cargo compartments.
- Shampoo carpets and upholstery as required.
- Clean all glass surfaces inside and out.
- Apply waxes, paint protection products, fabric protection products, and interior preservation products as required.
- Clean engine compartments and apply appropriate dressings when required.
- Touch up minor paint chips and imperfections when authorized.
- Remove adhesive residue, overspray, and contaminants from vehicle surfaces.
- Ensure vehicles are free of water spots, streaks, dust, fingerprints, and debris before delivery.
Vehicle Inspection & Delivery Preparation
- Perform a final quality inspection on every vehicle before delivery.
- Verify that all protective coverings, tags, and labels have been removed.
- Report any damage, defects, missing equipment, or concerns to management immediately.
- Complete all required detailing and delivery checklists accurately.
Vehicle Photography & Inventory Presentation
- Photograph new and pre-owned vehicles immediately after detailing is completed.
- Follow dealership photo standards and procedures to ensure consistent vehicle presentation online.
- Ensure vehicles are positioned correctly and photographed from all required angles.
- Upload or submit photographs according to dealership procedures.
- Maintain inventory presentation standards on the lot as required.
Shop & Facility Maintenance
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
- Properly store detailing chemicals, tools, and equipment.
- Monitor and report equipment maintenance concerns.
- Assist with general dealership housekeeping and vehicle movement when required.
Health & Safety
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Comply with all workplace health and safety regulations.
- Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Operate vehicles safely and responsibly while on dealership property.
Qualifications
- Previous automotive detailing experience is considered an asset.
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
