Shipper / Receiver
We are presently looking for a skilled Shipper / Receiver to join our team at Napier-Reid. The ideal candidate will be responsible for inventory in accordance with Company standards and procedures while following domestic and international shipping rules. The key activities will include everything from receiving parts and components, ensuring accurate counts and data entry into the ERP, tracking order quantities, performing cycle counts, and ensuring that equipment is shipped timely to customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Receives incoming shipments of materials, products, and supplies.
- Will perform cycle counts and audits weekly. Compile and maintain records on stocked materials, post results to inventory records, validate inventory records regularly, perform investigations on discrepancies, make corrections on inventory records as necessary, maintain and update inventory records through reconciliation, and develop and assist in implementation of efficient inventory management procedures.
- Write up all non-conforming material and send to the designated QA location.
- Responsible for the organization and cleanliness of the warehouse area.
- Load or arrange for loading of all freight and shipments.
- Inspect all shipments for proper loading and securing prior to leaving.
- Accurately gather and properly prepare all shipping document requirements for destinations including all bill of lading, country of origin, and commercial invoices.
- Participate in inventory counts.
- Will learn international shipping rules for shipments.
- Maintain forklift certification.
- Ensure all operations are conducted in safe and efficient manner.
- Collaborates with PM/Procurement/Production departments to ensure customer demands are met.
- Follow all company policies, assuring for safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Experience
- Position requires a high-school diploma or GED.
- Requires a minimum of two years related experience in the shipping of product domestically (international experience preferred), along with material movement and computer transactions.
- Requires forklift certification within three weeks of hire, and experience in a warehouse environment.
- Excellent attendance (crucial for efficiency/productivity purposes)
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office 360 products and ability to learn other technologies.
- Able to work reliably and independently with little direct supervision.
- Strong attention to detail.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of progressive experience in a warehouse / manufacturing environment.
- Completed High School diploma or equivalency.
- Lift up to 50lbs without assistance.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Currently have a forklift ticket, or driving experience in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to manage time, multitask quickly and have a high level of organization.
- Excellent team player and willing to assist other team members in the completion of their duties.
- Good communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Comfortable with computers and performing data entry as required.
- Ability to cooperate with other employees ensuring a cohesive and efficient shop environment.
- Valid Driver’s license.
