Automotive Service Technician - South Coast Hyundai, Simcoe, ON

Essential Functions for this position are (but might not be limited to) the following:
- Ability to work well with others and take direction
- Strong attention to detail, learn tasks quickly, and the ability to adapt to varying situations
- Lift at least 50 lbs. (lift weight and work with tools above head, if necessary)
- Perform physical work, in seasonal shop conditions (cold and hot weather)
- Operate and understand computer programs & equipment (alignment machine, etc.)
- Read and write clearly, for the purpose of communications, pertaining to any instructions, as well as information on Customer Work Orders, etc.
Responsibilities include:
- Perform full oil changes & alignment checks on a variety of vehicles, in an efficient and timely manner
- Perform Alignments as required
- Maintain tools, equipment and shop manuals in a satisfactory manner
- Comply with SouthCoast Hyundai and manufacturer policies
- Diagnose, repair, and perform maintenance requirements in accordance to manufacturer guidelines (with supervision & training)
- Perform duties as outlined on repair orders and discuss status with Service Advisors
- Record all pertinent information clearly on completed repair order
- Keep up on all automotive product knowledge, manufacturer updates, bulletins, recalls, training, and technical knowledge
- Diagnose and report existing conditions and additional repairs to the appropriate parties
- Communicate effectively with staff
- Assist colleagues with maintenance repairs
- And all other job-related tasks, as requested by Service Manager
