We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Cleaner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety across various facilities, ensuring a hygienic and welcoming environment for clients and staff. This role requires a strong work ethic, excellent time management skills, and the ability to handle cleaning equipment efficiently. Prior custodial or commercial cleaning experience is preferred but not mandatory, as training will be provided. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to a professional setting while developing valuable skills in facilities maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces in commercial or industrial spaces
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely for maintenance and cleaning purposes
- Utilize custodial equipment such as vacuums, buffers, and pressure washers to ensure high standards of cleanliness
- Conduct facilities maintenance tasks as needed, including minor repairs or reporting larger issues to management
- Manage time effectively to complete cleaning schedules within designated timeframes
- Maintain a safe work environment by following health and safety protocols and using appropriate protective gear
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding completed tasks or any issues encountered
- Assist with heavy lifting of supplies or equipment when necessary to support daily operations
Requirements
- Previous custodial or commercial cleaning experience is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Ability to operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on thoroughness in cleaning procedures
- Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and supervisors
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and stand for extended periods during shifts
- Knowledge of facilities maintenance practices is a plus
- Customer service orientation is desirable for roles involving client interaction
