Aeolus Staffing Solutions is conducting a confidential search for an anticipated Senior Manager, Technical Accounting opportunity with a large Ontario-based organization.
This opportunity is suited to an accomplished CPA with strong IFRS expertise and experience advising senior leaders on complex accounting and financial-reporting matters.
Contract Term: 12 months
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Compensation: $65.00–$85.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical accounting and IFRS compliance activities.
- Research complex transactions and prepare technical accounting memoranda and recommendations.
- Provide accounting guidance to finance teams, business stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Monitor evolving accounting standards and support the implementation of new requirements.
- Support financial-statement preparation, disclosures and audit activities.
- Work closely with internal and external auditors to resolve technical accounting matters.
- Review significant contracts and business initiatives for accounting implications.
- Prepare clear reports and presentations for executives, committees and the Board.
- Develop accounting policies, guidance materials and internal training.
- Strengthen financial reporting, internal controls and accounting processes.
- Drive continuous improvement across financial-reporting activities.
Qualifications
- CPA designation is required.
- At least five to seven years of progressive accounting and financial-reporting experience.
- Advanced IFRS knowledge and demonstrated technical accounting expertise.
- Experience assessing complex transactions and preparing technical accounting documentation.
- Strong audit, financial-reporting and accounting-policy experience.
- Excellent analytical ability, professional judgment and attention to detail.
- Strong stakeholder-management, communication and presentation skills.
- Experience advising executives or preparing Board-level materials is strongly preferred.
- Public accounting or experience within a large, complex organization is an asset.
