One of our clients is seeking a Mechanic / Welder Technician to join their Oshawa team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with hands-on experience working on commercial trucks, service vehicles, heavy-duty equipment, hydraulics, and welding fabrication.
In this role, you will install, troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and customize truck-mounted equipment, including dump bodies, snowplows, spreaders, and related mechanical systems
Responsibilities
· Install and assemble commercial truck equipment, including dump bodies, snow and ice equipment, plows, spreaders, and related accessories
· Perform welding and fabrication work, including welding bodies and components to truck frames
· Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and equipment-related issues
· Read and interpret drawings, schematics, technical bulletins, and work instructions
· Work with the shop team to determine the best installation approach, materials, tools, and methods
· Complete assembly and repair work efficiently while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
· Support quality control and provide leadership through strong work practices
· Identify potential additional repair needs and support customer satisfaction
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
· Follow all workplace health, safety, environmental, and company policies
Requirements
· Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with heavy-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, equipment, or accessories
· At least 1 year of welding experience with a variety of materials
· Experience with truck equipment installation, fabrication, repairs, or service work is preferred
· Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical documents
· Knowledge of hydraulic pumps, hydraulic equipment, valves, and 12V electrical circuits is an asset
· Strong attention to detail, quality, safety, and workmanship
· Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
· Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
· A customer-focused attitude and commitment to completing work on time
Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
