THURSDAY TO SATURDAY- 7PM TO 11PM (4 HOUR SHIFTS)
SATURDAY & SUNDAY- 10:30AM TO 7PM
RATE OF PAY: $20/HOUR
LOCATION: CENTRAL BURNABY (CLOSE TO BCIT).

CRITERIA:
1) ONLY FEMALE CAREGIVERS WILL BE CONSIDERED DUE TO THE PATIENTS COMFORT.
2) ONLY HINDI-SPEAKING CAREGIVERS WILL BE CONSIDERED DUE TO THE PATIENT CONVERSING MOSTLY IN HER MOTHER TONGUE (HINDI).
3) PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU ARE ABLE/CAPABLE TO BEAR THE WEIGHT OF THE PATIENT (150 POUNDS) UNASSISTED/WITHOUT ANY AIDS/LIFTING DEVICES. IF YOU ARE SELECTED FOR AN INTERVIEW, YOU WILL BE ASKED TO DO SO WITH THE PATIENT TO SHOW YOUR ABILITY.
4) ONLY THOSE WITH EXPERIENCE LOCALLY (WITHIN BC OR ANOTHER CANADIAN PROVINCE WITH LEGITIMATE REFERENCES) WILL BE CONSIDERED. THOSE WITH EXPERIENCE IN INDIA OR ELSEWHERE WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED AS EMPLOYMENT VERIFICATION CANNOT BE VERIFIED.
5) ONLY THOSE WITH A MINIMUM OF 1 YEAR OF CAREGIVING EXPERIENCE WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION. THOSE THAT ARE NEARLY GRADUATED FROM THE CAREGIVING PROGRAM AND/OR HAVE LESS THAN 1 YEAR OF EXPERIENCE WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.
6) THE PATIENT LIVES WITH A CAT (3 YEARS OLD) SO YOU MUST BE COMFORTABLE BEING AROUND/WORKING WITH CATS. IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE/FEARFUL, PLEASE DO NOT APPLY.

Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Female Private Caregiver who speaks Hindi to provide personalized in-home care for a patient in her early 80's who suffers from advanced Alzheimer's disease and requires assistance with her daily activities. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for the patient by delivering attentive and respectful care. This role is vital in supporting the patients independence and well-being within her home, ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.
Duties
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and preferences
- Administer medications accurately as prescribed, ensuring proper documentation
- Support clients with mobility, including heavy lifting when necessary, ensuring safety at all times
- Monitor health status and report any concerns to family members or healthcare professionals
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation and social interaction
- Follow care plans meticulously, respecting client preferences and cultural considerations
Experience
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings is mandatory.
- Minimum 1 year of caregiving experience. New graduates with no experience will NOT be considered.
- Knowledge of senior care, dementia care, hospice care, and working with individuals with disabilities is mandatory
- Experience with caregiving tasks such as medication administration, meal preparation, is highly preferred
- Familiarity with nursing or healthcare practices related to patient care is beneficial
- Ability to handle heavy lifting (150 lbs) safely and effectively manage physical demands of the role
- Prior experience working with Hindi-speaking clients is mandatory.
