The Loader Operator/Yard Person Role
On a daily basis, you will be responsible for performing general tasks involving Physical labour as well operating a front-end loader and operating other equipment in a safe and effective manner while following all safety policies. The Loader Operator will be responsible for moving material, stockpiling and loading/unloading trucks by hand or using material moving equipment necessary for safe transportation. You will also be responsible for the maintenance of storage yards and related facilities and to keep the yard clean and organized.
- Operate the Loader and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner
- Perform a variety of physical general labor tasks as required for the job
- Operate other equipment and other yardman related duties
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment to include equipment operated
- Report any malfunctions of equipment or problems to immediate supervisor
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
- Understand and follow directions from supervisors/lead hands as to required work area
- Follow all health and safety procedures and Identifying hazards or potential hazards
- Wear all company required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Other job duties as required
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Wage: $55,000 – $64,000 per year
Overtime: Paid in accordance with Ontario Employment Standards Act
