Job Overview:
We are seeking a Service Writer to join our team at an automotive mechanical and tire shop. The ideal candidate will have a passion for automotive repair and exceptional customer service skills.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers and assist them with scheduling service appointments
- Communicate with mechanics to ensure accurate service estimates and timelines
- Provide detailed explanations of recommended repairs and services to customers
- Handle cash transactions and process payments
- Upsell additional services or products based on customer needs
- Maintain customer records and vehicle history accurately
- Coordinate with the parts department to ensure necessary parts are available for repairs
Skills:
- Prior experience in an automotive repair setting or tire shop is preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge to effectively communicate with technicians and customers
- Proficiency in cash handling procedures
- Ability to upsell services or products while maintaining customer satisfaction
- Excellent customer service skills to address inquiries and concerns promptly
- Sales experience is a plus for promoting additional services
