Aiolos Engineering is a world leader in the design and construction of specialized test facilities for the automotive and aerospace industries. Our global client base includes industry giants such as Ferrari, NASA, BMW, Boeing, and the Indian Space Research Organization.
From climatic wind tunnels for thermodynamic testing to aero-acoustic facilities for noise studies, our team provides the critical infrastructure used to develop the next generation of vehicles and aircraft.
The Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our team, working alongside and learning from our Senior Designers. The ideal candidate possesses a solid technical background, practical design experience, and a strong sense of ownership—someone who can manage tasks and timelines effectively both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facility layout designs and drawings (General Arrangements) which involve establishing interfaces and locations for all components and subsystems related to and including the wind tunnel, including room layouts and architectural overlays.
- Specification drawings which convey the engineering requirements and general design and interfaces of a wind tunnel component that will be supplied and designed by another company. For example: Fan specification, Insulated panel systems, Windows and Doors, Access platforms, Snow simulation, Solar Simulation, lighting and Dynamometer.
- Building Interface drawings which convey all interfaces with the Wind Tunnel. For example: bearing details and their interfaces/embedments, drainage and services, wall and floor interfaces and penetrations, and foundation loading diagrams.
- Subsystem drawings which resemble industrial HVAC systems but engineered for a more specialized task for example: vehicle exhaust extraction, piping and ducting, wind tunnel air purge, air exchange or removal ducting and systems.
- Miscellaneous sketches, layouts, and schematic drawings
