Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Framing Carpenter to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing building frameworks and structures made from wood, steel, and other materials. This role requires attention to detail, knowledge of construction practices, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and construction plans.
- Measure, cut, and assemble materials according to project specifications.
- Build wall systems, floor systems, roof structures, and other framing components.
- Install doors, windows, and structural supports as required.
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely.
- Ensure all work meets building codes, safety standards, and project requirements.
- Collaborate with supervisors, contractors, and other trades on-site.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Perform material handling, loading, and unloading as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of framing carpentry experience preferred.
- Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of residential and/or commercial framing techniques.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg), climb ladders, and work at heights.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
- Safety certifications (such as Fall Protection, First Aid) are an asset.
