Job Overview

Responsibilities
- Prepare soil, containers, and planting beds to create ideal environments for plant growth
- Water plants efficiently using irrigation systems, ensuring proper moisture levels at all times
- Monitor plant health regularly, identifying pests or diseases early and taking appropriate action
- Operate hand tools and mechanical equipment safely to prune, transplant, or harvest plants
- Assist with planting, transplanting, pruning, and harvesting crops or ornamental plants
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and ensure tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained
- Support the implementation of horticultural best practices to maximize plant vitality and yield
Skills
- Knowledge of irrigation systems and how to troubleshoot basic issues
- Strong understanding of horticulture principles and plant care techniques
- Mechanical knowledge to operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment
- Proficiency with hand tools such as pruners, shovels, rakes, and trowels
- Ability to perform basic math for measuring soil amendments or adjusting irrigation schedules
- Physical strength for heavy lifting, bending, kneeling, and working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Passion for gardening with a keen eye for detail in plant health and growth development
Pay: $17.65-$31.30 per hour
Expected hours: 30.0 – 40.0 per week
