Job description: Steady afternoon shift
Responsibilities:
- IMPORTANT - MUST know how to perform nesting
- Operate laser cutting machine to cut and shape materials according to specifications
- Must be able to program orders to specs, complete all set up and operations of the machine.
- Monitor machine performance and adjust as necessary to ensure quality and efficiency
- Select proper cutting programs, and proper fixtures.
- Establish proper stop location, adjust laser beam focal point.
- Detect and report defective materials or questionable conditions to supervisor.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to keep it in good working condition
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and other technical documents to understand job requirements
- Always ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
- Troubleshoot problems with equipment or materials and make necessary repairs or adjustments
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of projects
- Keep accurate records of production and materials used for reporting purposes
- May perform a variety of other tasks as production needs require.
Requirements:
- MUST have a minimum of two years’ experience operating laser cutting machines
- Capable of reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
- Familiar with safety regulations and procedures related to laser operation
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose machine malfunctions
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds if/when needed (overhead hoists available for heavy lifts and forklift places steel bundles on saw intake conveyor rollers)
- Overhead crane certification an asset
- Proficient in using measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers
- Ability to perform all dimensional inspections.
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime when required.
- Physically capable of standing for long periods of time and lifting heavy materials
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Wage is dependent on experience

Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
