Baker / Cook (Part-Time)
L&C French Bakery – Fairview, Nelson, BC
We're looking for a reliable and motivated Baker / Pastry Chef to join our Fairview kitchen. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced bakery environment and have a passion for baking and food preparation, we'd love to hear from you.
Position Details
- Part-time (approximately 20 hours/week)
- Tuesday to Saturday
- Regular shift: 11:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- Additional hours available depending on workload, especially during the summer
- Some flexibility with start and finish times
- Start date: ASAP
- Wage: $19–20/hour, depending on experience
What You'll Do
- Prepare almond croissants and other bakery items
- Make sandwiches if FOH requires help
- Prepare quiche dough and other basic recipes
- Complete daily mise en place for the following day
- Prepare ganaches, syrups, and other pastry components
- Pull products for production and rebake items when needed
- Help keep the kitchen clean, organized, and running efficiently
Requirements
- Currently living in Nelson or the surrounding area
- Minimum 1 year of kitchen experience
- Bakery experience is strongly preferred
- You will work 1 week in Baker St, as part of your training
- If you're on a work permit, you must have at least 1 year remaining on your valid work visa
- Reliable and available Tuesday through Saturday

Bonus if you have experience with
- Classic French pastry techniques
- Ganache, crème pâtissière (pastry cream), and other basic French pastry preparations
