Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our busy restaurant team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking menu items with precision, maintaining high standards of food quality and safety, and supporting the overall kitchen operations. Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assist in meal preparation according to recipes and restaurant standards
- Cook and assemble dishes efficiently while maintaining quality and presentation standards
- Handle food safely, adhering to all food handling and safety regulations
- Assist with cleaning, organizing, and maintaining kitchen equipment and workstations
- Support the team in serving customers promptly and courteously
- Follow proper food safety procedures to prevent contamination and ensure hygiene
- Assist in inventory management by rotating stock and notifying management of supplies needed
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service during busy hours
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or as a line cook in a restaurant or food service setting
- Strong knowledge of food handling, safety, and sanitation standards
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques
- Good communication skills and ability to work well as part of a team
- Knowledge of meal preparation, food industry standards, and restaurant operations is preferred
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency in dish quality
- Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed
