We are looking for a dedicated Family Services Supervisor to lead and support our Family Support team while helping ensure families receive the resources, guidance, and services they need to thrive.
As the Family Services Supervisor, you will play a key leadership role by providing supervision, coaching, and operational oversight to Family Support Workers. You'll work closely with internal teams and community partners to ensure high-quality, coordinated services while fostering a positive, supportive workplace culture.
What You'll DoLead and Support Your Team
- Provide ongoing supervision, coaching, mentoring, and performance management to Family Support Workers.
- Conduct regular staff check-ins and support professional growth and development.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and accountable team environment.
- Assist with onboarding, training, and continuous learning initiatives.
Oversee Daily Operations
- Develop and maintain staff schedules, ensuring appropriate coverage and timely adjustments.
- Review and approve payroll submissions accurately and on time.
- Support the organization and upkeep of family visitation spaces.
- Manage administrative processes and office operations to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Track and maintain program resources, including car seat inventory and related documentation.
Support Families and Community Partnerships
- Collaborate with social service agencies, healthcare providers, and community partners to ensure coordinated support for families.
- Assist in assessing client needs and service eligibility.
- Support Family Support Workers in identifying resources, referrals, and intervention strategies.
- Help families access services that promote safety, stability, and well-being.
Ensure Quality and Compliance
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with organizational and funding requirements.
- Gather and prepare information for reports and program outcomes.
- Promote compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service quality.
What We're Looking ForEducation & Experience
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related human services or social science field such as:
- Social Services
- Human Service Counselling
- Child and Youth Care
- Psychology
- Or a related discipline
- Minimum 1 year of experience providing direct services to children, families, or vulnerable populations.
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience, including staff leadership, coaching, and performance management.
Skills & Abilities
- Strong leadership and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Ability to effectively manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Confidence in crisis response, problem-solving, and decision-making.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and electronic documentation systems.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and professional standards.
Additional Requirements
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
- Clear and current Driver's Abstract.
- Valid vehicle registration and insurance with a minimum of $1,000,000 liability coverage.
