Figure Skating Coaches Wanted
2026-2027 Season
Polaris Figure Skating Club is seeking enthusiastic, dedicated, and motivated coaches to join our coaching team for the 2026-2027 season.
Located in Labrador City, Newfoundland and Labrador, Polaris FSC offers a welcoming skating community with opportunities to coach athletes at all levels, from beginners through competitive skaters.
We are currently recruiting multiple coaching positions, including:
- CanSkate Coaches
- Regional Coaches
- Provincial Coaches
Responsibilities Include:
- Deliver high-quality instruction in CanSkate, STARSkate, and competitive programs based on certification level.
- Develop skaters’ technical skills in a positive and supportive environment.
- Assess and monitor athlete progress.
- Prepare and accompany skaters to assessments, competitions, seminars, and events.
- Create and implement training plans appropriate to athlete development.
- Choreograph programs as required.
- Contribute to club events, showcases, and annual ice shows.
- Work collaboratively with fellow coaches, volunteers, and club leadership.
- Follow all Skate Canada policies, procedures, and Safe Sport requirements.
Qualifications:
- Registered Skate Canada Professional Coach in Good Standing.
- CanSkate, Regional, Provincial, or higher certification considered.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Passion for athlete development and long-term success.
- Ability to work effectively within a coaching team.
- Current First Aid, Respect in Sport, and other Skate Canada requirements considered an asset.
