Job Description
The Director of Finance and IT position is a 13-month contract opportunity and will report directly to the President. This position’s focus is managing a large Finance and Accounting team, as well as a small IT team. This person will also act as a trusted advisor to our business leaders and will help coordinate the associated reporting deliverables to the executive leadership team and the Board of Directors.
This individual will work primarily out of the Ontario Food Terminal location but will require the ability to travel to our 302 Dwight Avenue location as required.
This role requires the ability to maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the business, which may included occasional evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities

Ensure that financial and operational insights are provided through the development of tools, processes, and systems

Create and measure the organization’s performance against defined budgets and forecasts

Work with Business Unit heads to build their annual budgets and forecasts

Analyzing financial and operational results to better understand company performance
-
Produce models to project long term growth and projects, and determine the impacting business factors
-
Work with the leadership team to set annual organizational objectives whereby finance and IT support the operational objectives with an eye towards strategic financial growth

Oversee monthly reporting, ensuring a high degree of quality, timeliness, and accuracy, as well as highlighting key business insights

Develop forward-looking predictive models that provide insight into the company’s operations and business planning

Execute a reliable and efficient IT strategy while ensuring that the department meets the organization’s data processing and control requirements
Candidate Requirements
Qualifications:
-
Candidates must have completed a bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance along with successfully achieving their CGA/CMA/CPA designation, an MBA is an asset

Analyzes the company's financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs, and compliance with budgets. Issue regular status and ad hoc report to senior management

8+ years of FP&A experience with 4+ years of management experience in roles of increasing responsibility at high-growth and high-performing organization(s)

Demonstrated technical ability with using tools and systems to automate and scale FP&A tasks

Experience working within a fresh food wholesale distribution business is an asset
