Job Description:
We're a creative, seasonal attraction with family fun and haunted experiences.
We’re looking for a reliable, hands-on, creative person to help build and maintain haunted houses and immersive festival attractions in the Kitchener-Waterloo area.
This is not just a general labour job. It’s a mix of building, problem-solving, fabrication, painting, installation, and helping with the technical side of a live attraction. It’s a great fit for someone who is competent at using tools, figuring out how things work, and turning ideas into real-world experiences. You must be willing to take on all aspects of the operation—not just the fun parts—and be comfortable getting your hands dirty. The role involves a mix of outdoor maintenance and indoor tasks as needed across the farm. The ideal candidate is a well‑rounded, hands‑on person who’s just as comfortable working out in the field as they are talking with guests. This role isn’t only behind the scenes—you must be ready to work directly with the public while collaborating closely with our team.
The role starts as a seasonal position from summer through late fall, with the potential to grow into a year-round opportunity for the right person.
What you’ll do:
- Help build, repair and install walls, props, sets and scenic elements
- Assist with painting, finishing, detailing and assembly
- Support basic tech setup, troubleshooting and attraction maintenance
- Use hand and power tools
- Work physically outside in all weather conditions
- Load, move and organize materials
- Jump into different tasks as projects change and deadlines get closer
What we’re looking for:
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic
- Comfortable with physical, outdoor hands-on work
- Interested in building, fixing, making, or learning technical systems
- Good attitude and dependable attendance
- Computer, AV and 3D printing knowledge
- Able to work on your feet, lift materials, and handle active workdays
- Willing to learn and help wherever needed
- Valid Drivers licence/ Reliable transportation to location
Assets, but not required:
- Experience with tools, construction, carpentry, scenic build, props, events, theatre, AV, escape rooms, or haunted attractions
- Mechanical ability or basic tech troubleshooting skills
- Knows how to drive a tractor and operate some small equipment
Why this job is different:
You’ll be part of creating immersive themed environments, not just doing the same repetitive work every day. We’re looking for someone who likes building cool things, solving problems, and being part of a fast-paced creative operation.
