RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and report on monthly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Generate management reports and supporting materials for the controllers.
- Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations as necessary
- Assist in the budgeting process, including the creation and management of budgets.
- Support forecasting efforts to ensure financial objectives are met.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure timely payments and collections.
- Prepare and file HST returns in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Review and release all purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Coordinate and support annual financial audits and tax reviews, providing necessary documentation and information.
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls over accounting processes, cash flow, and asset management.
- Provide timely and accurate service to internal clients and stakeholders, addressing any inquiries or concerns related to financial matters.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Completion of Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Previous experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably within the construction industry.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office particularly with Excel.
- 1-2 years’ experience in preparing financial statements and supporting with other accounting duties.
- Highly organized and detailed in performing duties.
- Efficient and effective time management, demonstrating ability to meet deadlines while producing quality and accurate work.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal, to develop positive professional relationships.
- Experience in Construction industry is an asset.
