Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Office Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will be the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while efficiently managing front desk operations. This role requires excellent communication skills, familiarity with dental and medical office procedures, and proficiency with electronic health records systems. Prior experience in dental or medical office environments is highly valued. The Dental Office Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations and a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and check them in efficiently using electronic medical records systems such as Dentrix and Epic
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule patient appointments accurately
- Manage multi-line phone systems to handle patient inquiries, appointment requests, and other communications
- Verify patient insurance information and assist with billing procedures
- Maintain organized patient records in compliance with privacy regulations
- Collect payments and process transactions at the front desk
- Answer questions regarding dental services, office policies, and procedures
- Coordinate with dental staff to ensure smooth workflow throughout the day
- Keep the reception area clean, organized, and welcoming
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a dental receptionist or in a medical office setting preferred
- Proficiency with dental software is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and electronic medical records management
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience handling multi-line phone systems and administrative tasks in a busy office environment
- Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Professional appearance and friendly demeanor
- Familiarity with office equipment and basic administrative functions
