Overview
We are looking for a skilled Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of specialized equipment and medium duty trucks. This isn't just about lawnmowers; we operate a variety of machines where hydraulics are the heart of the operation. You will be the go-to person for keeping us running during our peak season and the lead on overhaul projects during the winter.
What You’ll Do:
- Diagnose & Repair: Work on a mix of 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines.
- Hydraulic Systems: Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain hydraulic pumps, lines, and cylinders (this is a core part of the job).
- Preventative Maintenance: Manage pre-trip inspections and scheduled servicing for a diverse fleet.
- Seasonal Flow: Handle high-priority "emergency" repairs during the busy Spring/Summer months, and pivot to shop projects and fleet refreshments during the relaxed Winter season.
- Diesel (Bonus): Perform basic diesel repairs and maintenance (major diesel work may be sent off-site).
What You Bring:
- Proven experience with small engine repair and strong hydraulic troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with medium-duty trucks is an asset.
- A "find a way" attitude—essential for a small business environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage a shop schedule.
- Basic welding or fabrication skills are a definite plus.
