Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Horticulturist / IPM (Integrated Pest Management) Lead to support and oversee plant health and crop protection programs within our greenhouse operation. This role is responsible for monitoring crop health, identifying pests and nutrient-related issues, implementing effective treatment strategies, and supporting day-to-day greenhouse operations.The ideal candidate will possess strong horticultural knowledge, experience working in an operating greenhouse environment, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support Integrated Pest Management (IPM) programs within the greenhouse
- Monitor crops for pests, disease, and nutrient-related issues
- Apply registered pest control products safely and effectively
- Assist with plant maintenance and crop care including pruning and general horticultural practices
- Support overall greenhouse operations and collaborate with the production team
- Maintain accurate records related to treatments and crop health
Experience
- The ideal candidate will possess:
- A valid pesticide applicator license permitting the ordering and application of registered greenhouse products
- Post-secondary education in horticulture or a related field (considered an asset)
- Previous experience working in an operating greenhouse environment
- Knowledge of plant maintenance, pruning, and nutrient deficiency identification
- Experience identifying common greenhouse pests and implementing effective treatment strategies
- The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends, as some control applications must occur during lower-traffic operational periods

Pay: $19.15-$35.19 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
