Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Permanent Part-Time (31.5 hours) Housekeeper/Dietary Aid/Janitorial to join our team. This role is vital in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and staff within our assisted living or Subsidized Housing. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to the well-being of our residents while gaining valuable experience in food service, sanitation, and hospitality operations. Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, or the food industry is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to high standards of cleanliness and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning and sanitation duties throughout the facility, including resident rooms, common areas, kitchens, and bathrooms
- Assist with meal preparation and food service activities in accordance with safety and health standards
- Support food handling, cooking, and serving tasks as needed to ensure timely delivery of meals
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and dining areas, adhering to food safety regulations
- Help with general janitorial tasks such as trash removal, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces
- Ensure all areas meet sanitation standards to promote a safe environment for residents and staff
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks under supervision when required
- Follow established procedures for infection control and sanitation protocols
- Support residents' needs with respectful customer service when appropriate
Qualifications
- Knowledge of food preparation, serving, and safety practices
- Experience with cleaning and sanitation procedures in healthcare or hospitality settings preferred
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills and a friendly demeanor when interacting with residents and staff
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods, lifting up to 40 pounds, bending, reaching, and walking throughout the facility
