We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Awake Child and Youth Care (CYC) professional to join our team in providing exceptional support and supervision for children with diverse needs. As an Awake CYC, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive. Duties
- Supervise children during overnight shifts, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times
- Implement individualized care plans tailored to each child's unique needs and circumstances
- Engage children in positive activities that promote social, emotional, and developmental growth
- Monitor children’s behavior closely, responding promptly to any concerns or emergencies
- Maintain accurate documentation of daily activities, incidents, and observations
- Collaborate with team members, families, and external professionals to support each child's progress
- Uphold safety protocols and maintain a secure environment conducive to healing and development
Experience
- Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities or behavioral challenges is highly preferred
- Demonstrated experience working with children in educational, caregiving, or therapeutic settings
- Strong understanding of teaching strategies that support learning and development in youth
- Ability to remain calm, attentive, and proactive during overnight shifts
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and families
