Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Dietary Aide to join our team. This role involves assisting with meal preparation, food service, and maintaining sanitation standards within a supportive retirement community. The ideal candidate will have experience in food handling and customer service, ensuring residents receive nutritious meals in a safe and friendly setting. Responsibilities
- Serve meals in a courteous and professional manner, ensuring proper portioning and presentation
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, dining areas, and food storage spaces through regular sanitation practices
- Follow food safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure compliance with health regulations
- Help with food handling, storage, and inventory management to ensure freshness and safety
- Support the kitchen team with basic cooking tasks as needed, including assisting with special dietary requests
- Ensure timely delivery of meals to residents or patients, adhering to scheduled meal times
- Assist with cleaning dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment after meal service
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing residents’ or patients’ needs courteously and professionally
Requirements
- Prior experience in retirement or the food industry is preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation, cooking, serving, and sanitation standards
- Strong understanding of food safety practices and proper handling procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing time effectively
- Excellent customer service skills with a caring attitude towards residents or patients
- Basic kitchen experience including cleaning and sanitation procedures
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; previous experience in food service or healthcare settings is a plus
