Job Overview
We are seeking a creative and passionate Floral Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for design and color combinations, be a creative individual and have the ability to provide exceptional customer service. As a Floral Designer, you will be responsible for creating beautiful floral arrangements for various occasions, assisting customers with their selections and helping the team with everyday tasks around the store. Strong attention to detail with the ability to multi task regularly is required! All floral design training would be provided to our successful candidate.
This is a full time, permanent position with additional hours required during weeks of major floral holidays.
Duties
- Design and create floral arrangements for everyday occasions, events and weddings.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting clients with their floral needs and preferences.
- Maintain rotation of inventory of flowers and supplies, ensuring freshness and quality.
- Manage point-of-sale (POS) transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Handle cash transactions and perform cashier duties as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to execute merchandising displays that attract customers.
- Communicate effectively with customers.
- Maintain organized workspaces to ensure efficient workflow.
- Be comfortable with waiting on customers on the phone.
- Must be able to carry heavy buckets, help carry freight up and down stairs and stand for extended periods of time.
- Daily cleaning duties around the store.
Experience
Candidates should possess the following skills and experiences:
- Previous experience in floral design or a related field is an asset but not required.
- Strong retail sales experience with a focus on customer service.
- Proficiency in cash handling and POS systems.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English.
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Experience with e-commerce platforms is beneficial.
