About Us:
We are a world-class manufacturer of plastic products seeking a detail-oriented and proactive process engineer with expertise in injection molding. This role focuses on optimizing production processes, improving quality, and implementing efficient workflows to meet customer requirements.
Position Overview:
The Process Engineer will oversee existing workflows, design and implement process improvements, conduct trials, and analyze data to enhance productivity and reduce defects. The role involves close collaboration with production, engineering, quality, customers, and suppliers to ensure the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and assess existing manufacturing processes and workflows.
- Design, implement, and test new procedures to optimize productivity.
- Track metrics and assemble reports to monitor process performance and improvements.
- Plan trials or sequences of trials, including scheduling, manpower, materials, and process changes.
- Recommend and coordinate equipment changes and process improvements.
- Analyzed trial results and designed experiments to identify and solve problems, reducing defects.
- Interface with customers and suppliers to resolve quality issues in collaboration with the Quality Department.
- Develop and implement statistical process control (SPC) techniques.
- Maintain a database of historical process information.
- Study and recommend improvements on job setups for presses and auxiliary equipment.
- Perform new tool samples and attend to tool samples at outside sources.
- Establish all processing parameters for tools and jobs.
- Maintain the highest quality standards to ensure continuous customer satisfaction.
- Troubleshoot current processes for potential improvements.
- Provide recommendations during new product design to maximize production efficiency.
- Audit processing paperwork for accuracy and compliance.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field (minimum for entry-level positions).
- At least 1 year of experience in injection molding.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate processes, identify risks, and recommend solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across all levels of the manufacturing process.
- Ability to lift at least 60 lbs.
- Proven problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge or training in Systematic Molding Level 2 or higher is preferred.
