About Us
At Hands That Care, we believe the greatest gift we can offer is time, compassion, and a hand that truly cares. We provide professional, personalized home care solutions designed to support independence, dignity, and well-being. Our care is built on trust, sustainability, and community, moving away from a "one-size-fits-all" approach to deliver truly person-centered support.
We are looking for dedicated, compassionate, and trained caregivers to join our growing team and help clients live safely and comfortably in their own homes.
What You Will Do
Our services encompass a holistic approach to home care. As a caregiver, you will proactively take action within your client’s home to ensure they experience the highest possible quality of life:
- Personal Care & Support: Provide compassionate assistance with activities of daily living, including bathing, showering, grooming, and medication reminders. Please note: Personal care applies equally to both men and women; caregivers provide support regardless of gender.
- Companionship & Connection: Engage in meaningful social interaction, conversation, and emotional support to reduce isolation.
- Homemaking & Meal Support: Prepare meals requested by clients (regardless of personal preferences or cultural background) and perform light housekeeping, laundry, and grocery shopping to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Mobility Assistance: Help with safe walking, transfers, and movement to encourage independence and prevent falls.
- Dementia-Informed Support: Utilize specialized, person-centered approaches for clients living with dementia and cognitive changes.
- Post-Hospital Non-Medical Support: Assist clients transitioning home after a hospital discharge to support recovery and prevent readmission.
- Errands & Transportation: Provide light transportation and run essential errands for clients.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
We are actively seeking unique individuals who are passionate about contributing meaningfully to the lives of seniors and adults in our community. To join us, you must have:
- Availability: Must be available to work at least 10–15 hours per week. Shifts can include days, evenings, or overnights (either 10 or 12-hour overnight shifts).
- License & Vehicle: A valid Class 5 Driver’s License and a reliable vehicle are required for traveling to client homes (preferred).
- Language: Proficiency in English (preferred).
- Safety & Compliance: A clean Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector) and valid First Aid/CPR certification.
- Adaptability: If you have more hours on your mind, scheduling adaptability can quickly open the door to full-time opportunities!
Why Join Hands That Care?
- A Supportive Culture: Work with a team that values your contribution and prioritizes a compassionate, respectful work environment.
- Flexible Scheduling: We offer hours that adapt to your lifestyle, whether you are looking for full-time, part-time, or casual shifts.
- Impactful Work: Experience the rewarding feeling of providing care that truly makes a difference in someone's day-to-day life.
