Job Description
We are looking for a few calm, reliable local community connectors to support small Sleep Readiness Sessions in Halifax.
These are guided 90-minute sessions for adults who deal with stress, poor sleep, mental overload, or difficulty slowing down after a busy day.
The sessions are not therapy, medical treatment, yoga, or fitness training. They follow a simple guided structure using gentle movement, stillness, and pacing to help people settle before bedtime and return to a calmer rhythm.
This role is not a teaching role. You are not expected to lead your own method or give advice.
Your role is to help create a calm, welcoming environment, support the session structure, and help connect the session with people in your local community who may genuinely benefit from it.
A strong fit would be someone who personally relates to poor sleep, stress, mental overload, or a busy mind at night — and who cares about helping others find a calmer way to end the day.
Responsibilities
- Help create a calm and welcoming session environment
- Support basic check-in and room setup
- Follow the fixed 90-minute session structure
- Support participants quietly and appropriately during the session
- Help notice basic comfort or room-related issues during the session
- Assist with closing tasks and brief feedback collection
- When appropriate, help invite or connect a few local participants from your neighbourhood, workplace, group, or community circle
Who This Role May Suit
This role may be a good fit if you:
- personally relate to stress, poor sleep, mental overload, or difficulty slowing down at night
- care about waking up with a clearer mind and a more settled body
- are mature, calm, reliable, and steady
- feel comfortable supporting adults in a quiet group setting
- are comfortable following a fixed structure without adding your own guidance
- have some real connection to a local adult community in Halifax
- would feel comfortable inviting a few people who may genuinely benefit from this session
You do not need to be a therapist, coach, yoga teacher, or fitness instructor.
Experience with meditation, mindfulness, breathwork, community work, volunteering, peer support, or quiet wellbeing practices is helpful, but not required.
This Role May Not Be the Right Fit If
This role may not be the right fit if you:
- want to teach your own method
- prefer high-energy fitness or social events
- are uncomfortable with quiet, slow-paced environments
- are very new to Halifax and do not yet have a local network
- are mainly looking for a general part-time job without interest in this topic

- Usually between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM
- Each session is approximately 2 hours, including setup, the 90-minute session, and brief feedback
