JOB SUMMARY
International Truck Body is a leading truck body manufacturer located in Winnipeg specializing in Dry Freight, Refrigerated, and Custom truck body applications. We are seeking an exceptional, motivated and professional Mechanical Designer to join our team. The successful candidate will support us with on-going Product Development and Production. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to improve your technical skills while contributing to the growth of the company in a fast-paced and family-like environment.
The ideal candidate will be able to work within a team and under minimal supervision.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and develop components for our automotive applications.
- Create 3D models, Fabrication drawings & Bills of materials (BOMs)
- execute test plans to verify and accept assemblies.
- Ability to design for manufacturability (DFM)
- Understands Sheet metal design, CNC cutting, bending, welding & Assembly processes
- Analyze new concepts to evaluate cost, manufacturability, and feasibility.
- Manage and maintain as-built data for accuracy and consistency.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Production, Quality Assurance, Sales, and other departments as needed.
- Confidently and professionally represent the Company in the presence of our customer and suppliers.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of 5 years related work experience.
- Proficient with SOLIDWORKS or equivalent design software.
- Experience with SOLIDWORKS PDM.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to be hands-on and work closely with production teams.
- Strong understanding of mechanical assembly for automotive applications.
- Proven ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.
