Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Baker to join our team. The ideal candidate has experience in the food and bakery industry, strong food preparation skills, and a creative eye for decorating and presentation. In this role, you will prepare, bake, and decorate a wide range of baked goods while maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and food safety. You will also assist with inventory management and support day-to-day bakery operations in a fast-paced retail environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and bake a wide range of products including breads, pastries, and cookies.
- Bake products according to recipes and quality standards.
- Decorate baked goods with artistic flair and attention to detail.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area in compliance with food safety regulations.
- Package finished products for display or sale, ensuring they are presented attractively.
- Monitor inventory levels of baking ingredients and supplies; assist with ordering as needed.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
- Adhere to all food handling and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
Skills
- Previous baking or related experience is an asset
- Strong knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations.
- Familiarity with various kitchen equipment used in baking and food preparation.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in both preparation and presentation.
- Strong communication skills, able to work well within a team setting.
- A passion for baking and creativity in developing new recipes or improving existing ones.
