Sous Chef / Lead Cook – Italian Sandwich Shop
We are a growing Italian sandwich shop in Calgary looking for a talented Sous Chef / Lead Cook to join our team.
Our concept is built around fresh, house-made schiacciata bread baked daily and high-quality Italian ingredients. We’re looking for someone passionate about food, organized, reliable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Ideal candidate:
- Experience using a professional deli slicer
- Comfortable working under pressure during busy lunch rushes and catering orders
- Knowledge of baking and bread production is a strong asset
- Familiar with Italian cuisine and Italian deli meats
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Able to manage prep efficiently and maintain cleanliness standards
- Leadership qualities and ability to work well within a small team
- Reliable, punctual, and passionate about quality food
Responsibilities:
- Daily sandwich and prep production
- Deli meat sliceing
- Assisting with bread baking and kitchen organization
- Managing catering orders
- Maintaining food quality and consistency
- Helping create an efficient and positive kitchen environment
