SmartVac Hydrovacs is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technologist to support the design, development, testing, and manufacturing of specialized hydrovac equipment and related components. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering and production teams to prepare technical drawings, specifications, documentation, and project materials.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and interpret engineering designs, drawings, and technical specifications using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
- Develop and revise technical drawings and manufacturing documentation.
- Prepare cost and material estimates, project schedules, technical reports, and related documentation.
- Conduct testing and evaluation of mechanical components, systems, equipment, and materials.
- Assist with product development and engineering improvement initiatives.
- Review drawings, specifications, and technical documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Collaborate with engineers, production personnel, suppliers, and other stakeholders regarding design requirements and modifications.
- Support manufacturing operations through technical analysis and documentation.
- Maintain engineering records, drawings, and project files.
- Assist in evaluating equipment performance and identifying design improvements.
Qualifications
- Completion of a college diploma in mechanical engineering technology or a related discipline.
- At least two years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering technology, manufacturing, product design, or a related field.
- Experience preparing and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Experience using CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment.
- English language proficiency.
