Position Overview
We are looking for a Talent & Development Manager to own two critical pillars of our business: finding great people to join our team, and building the structural systems (training, policies, and reviews) that help them succeed. This is an execution-heavy role for someone who loves recruiting and enjoys building processes.
Key Responsibilities & Actual Daily Tasks
1. Talent Acquisition & Recruitment (Hiring)
- Write and post clear, accurate job descriptions across LinkedIn, Indeed, and industry-specific job boards.
- Actively source and headhunt passive candidates for open roles via LinkedIn Recruiter or Indeed.
- Review resumes, conduct initial phone screenings, and filter out unqualified applicants before passing candidates to hiring managers.
- Coordinate and schedule all subsequent interview rounds between candidates and departmental managers.
- Manage the offer process, including drafting offer letters, conducting reference checks, and handling salary negotiations.
- Review working environment, including zoom reviews of new hires workstations and internet connection stability
2. Training System Creation & Documentation (Your "Time Filler")
- Build a structured onboarding program so new hires can get up to speed independently on week one.
- Create step-by-step training modules (using tools like Loom, Notion, Trainual, or Google Docs) covering our internal tools, software, and company processes.
- Develop ongoing training tracks for existing staff to ensure everyone stays aligned on company workflows.
- Train departmental managers on how to use and enforce these processes within their own teams.
3. Manager Support & Performance Reviews
- Establish a standardized performance review process (e.g., quarterly or bi-annual reviews).
- Provide managers with the templates and frameworks they need to evaluate their staff fairly.
- Calendar and track review cycles to ensure managers actually complete their reviews on time.
- Act as an advisor to managers, helping them navigate how to give constructive feedback and track employee progress.
- Help management team with the dismissal of employees when necessary.
4. Company Policies & Team Culture
- Draft and update the employee handbook, establishing clear, common-sense policies and procedures.
- Plan, budget, and execute quarterly team-building events or company retreats to keep the team connected.
- Manage the logistics of employee milestones (ordering company swag, celebrating work anniversaries/birthdays, etc.).
What We Are Looking For (Requirements)
- 5+ years of experience doing full-cycle recruiting (sourcing, interviewing, and hiring).
- Proven experience building training materials, user guides, or company wikis from scratch.
- Strong technical literacy—you can quickly master our software tools and comfortably teach them to others.
- Excellent written communication skills (you will be writing a lot of policies, training guides, and job ads).
- High organization—you don't need a manager to tell you what to do next; you can manage your own time between active hiring and system building.
