Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the successful candidate is a member of the Senior Leadership Team, champions providing strategic leadership for budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, performance measurement, compliance monitoring, and organizational reporting. HOW you’ll create Moments that Matter:
- Provide leadership and supervision to departmental staff and volunteers, including personal and professional growth and development opportunities
- Manage human resource functions such as recruitment, selection, performance management, employee development, and conduct annual performance appraisals
- Providing additional support to the larger team as needed
- FINANCIAL PLANNING & ANALYSIS
- Develop long-range financial forecasts and multi-year financial plans.
- Lead scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis to support strategic decision-making.
- Prepare business cases and financial evaluations for capital projects and strategic initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze organizational performance trends and recommend corrective actions.
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies, revenue growth, and cost optimization.
- STRATEGY AND PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT
- Develop and maintain Association-wide performance dashboards.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Coordinate quarterly strategic plan reporting.
- Analyze progress toward strategic objectives and provide recommendations to leadership.
- Lead organizational performance measurement and reporting.
- Develop and maintain strategic plan scorecards and dashboards.
- Coordinate quarterly strategic plan progress reviews.
- Analyze performance results and identify emerging risks and opportunities.
- Support leadership in establishing measurable targets and performance indicators.
- BOARD AND LEADERSHIP SUPPORT
- Prepare financial and performance reports for the Board of Directors and committees.
- Present findings and recommendations to executive leadership.
- Support strategic planning and budget development processes.
- Develop and maintain an annual compliance review program.
- Conduct operational, financial, and policy compliance reviews.
- Monitor implementation of audit recommendations.
- Support enterprise risk management initiatives.
- Assist departments in strengthening internal controls and risk mitigation practices.
- ADMINISTRATION
- Develop departmental work plans and priorities.
- Monitor departmental performance and resource allocation.
- Maintain policies, procedures, and documentation related to financial planning and compliance activities.
- Ensure data integrity and consistency within organizational reporting systems.
You’ll bring:
- Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required
- MBA or equivalent strategic leadership training considered an asset
- Five to seven years of progressive financial leadership experience
- Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and performance measurement processes.
- Experience conducting operational reviews, compliance audits, or internal control assessments.
- Experience in the charitable sector is considered an asset.
- Financial modeling and scenario analysis.
- Business intelligence and dashboard reporting.
- Strategic planning and performance management.
- Risk management and internal controls.
- Advanced Excel and data analytics skills.
- Ability to communicate complex information to non-financial audiences.
